What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis or hypnotherapy, is a relaxing process which involves accessing the unconscious mind and changing unhelpful belief systems. Most people find the therapy enjoyable and a typical hypnosis session will last around 30-45 minutes. Contrary to popular belief you can never be made to do anything you don't want to do and you are completely in control throughout the whole process. Hypnotherapy is about helping you achieve positive lasting change so that you can enjoy life to the full.

Some of the many issues that hypnosis can help are:
How does it work?
Hypnosis allows you to access your powerful unconscious mind and unlock your potential. Here at HypnosisHelps we believe that you have all the resources you need to overcome whatever challenges you face. The trick is finding those resources and this is where hypnosis comes in!
Hypnosis helps because it can change unhelpful beliefs and patterns of behaviour. It works because when we are feeling relaxed our unconscious becomes much more open to positive suggestions. Under hypnosis our mind can take on board helpful suggestions that will improve our health and wellbeing.
The technique was thought to originate in Ancient India over 4000 years ago. Hindus took the sick to "sleep temples" so that they could be cured by hypnotic suggestion.
Hypnosis has come a long way since then and after a very turbulent history it is now becoming recognised as a valuable clinical technique. Modern hypnosis is based on scientific research and is starting to be integrated into conventional medicine.
