Hypnosis for habits & addictions


A short course of hypnotherapy is often all you need if you are looking to change a habit. This treatment can be highly effective at stopping unwanted behaviours in their tracks.


Some examples of habits that can be treated with hypnosis are:

Hypnosis works with the unconscious mind to change those behaviours that sometimes we do not even realise we are doing. As you listen to the soothing combination of voice and music your conscious mind naturally quietens and your unconscious mind becomes open to positive suggestion. By making suggestions under hypnosis the unconscious mind can be persuaded to stop the habit or addiction and replace it with much more useful behaviours.

The process of replacing the unwanted behaviour with a new positive behaviour is an important part of the hypnosis. The mind finds it much easier to stop a behaviour if there is something to replace it with. For example many people that use hypnosis to treat chocolate addiction choose to replace it with a healthier snack. 


How long does THE HYPNOSIS work for?

Once you have established healthy new habits there is no reason why you shouldn't continue to do so. The new behaviours become instinctive and the pattern is broken.

If however, there is an underlying reason behind your habit (such as stress or anxiety) you may find that over time you begin to develop another undesirable habit. If this is the case it suggests that you should see a qualified hypnotherapist who can help you deal with the underlying cause of your habit.
